Cisco Certified Network Associate

In this video, you’ll learn about the different modes of access in Cisco IOS: User EXEC mode, Privileged EXEC mode, and Global Configuration (Admin) mode. The lesson explains how each mode provides a different level of control over a Cisco device, starting with basic monitoring commands in User mode, moving to advanced troubleshooting and system-level commands in Privileged mode, and finally to full configuration changes in Global Configuration mode.

You’ll also see how prompts change (from > to # and (config)#) to indicate the current mode, and why security is important when controlling access between them. Passwords and privilege levels are introduced as methods to protect device access.

By the end of this video, you will understand how to navigate between Cisco’s User, Privilege, and Admin modes, along with their functions and importance in configuring and securing network devices.
